These terms govern your use of the Storm Lake African Grocery website and your purchases for in-store pickup or local delivery. By placing an order you agree to these terms.
Our listed prices include all applicable fees. This includes a 3% card processing fee that is built into the price you see — it is not added as a separate line at checkout.
Sales taxis calculated and shown separately at checkout. In accordance with Iowa law, food for home consumption (groceries) is exempt from sales tax; prepared foods, soft drinks, candy, and non-food items (including health & beauty and hair products) are taxable at the combined 7% rate. The tax due appears on your order summary before you pay.
Prices and product availability may change without notice. If an item is mispriced or unavailable after you order, we will contact you and, if needed, refund the affected item.
Online payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our servers. Your order is confirmed once payment is authorized.
If you choose pickup, you select your pickup store at checkout and we email you when your order is confirmed. Please bring your order confirmation. We hold pickup orders for a reasonable period; contact us if you need more time.
For local delivery, you pay for your groceries at checkout. The delivery / shipping charge is calculated after your order is packed and is charged separately to the card you used, which you authorize by selecting delivery and completing checkout. We verify delivery addresses and may contact you if an address cannot be confirmed.
Perishable and food items are generally non-returnable for health and safety reasons. If an item is damaged, spoiled, or incorrect, contact us within 48 hours of pickup/delivery and we will replace it or issue a refund. Non-food items in unopened, resalable condition may be returned within 14 days with proof of purchase. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
We may decline or cancel an order (for example, suspected fraud, pricing errors, or items out of stock). If we cancel a paid order, we refund it in full.
